Waiting a year for a film you know you’re going to love is never easy. Watching that film and being massively disappointed by it is even more so.
I have been a fan of Peter Jackson since the first Lord of the Rings film over ten years ago. Since then I have headed to the cinema, bought the DVDs and enjoyed the extended edition of everything Tolkien he has produced. Yet I left the cinema after seeing the latest Hobbit instalment feeling nothing but dismayed.
Christmas is a time for relaxing, watching lots of movies and tv and eating as much junk food as you can mange without exploding. For once, I’ve been managing to do just that. Granted I have been writing and doing uni work at the same time but I’ve managed to relax more than I usually do. So far today I’ve watched ‘Stardust’ (always makes me feel Christmasy, don’t know why) and ‘The Amazing Spiderman’. Which I have decided is one of the best superhero movies made recently. Why, I hear you ask. One reason.
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey
I love fairy tales. I loved them as a child, I loved them growing up and I love them even more as an adult and a student of literature. What I have also grown to love is a twist on the traditional fairy tale, which is exactly what David Meredith’s The Reflections of Snow White is.
The book actually begins with Queen Snow White mourning the death of Prince Charming one year after his passing. We are years beyond the happily ever after and the Queen is far from the young princess we recognise in the original fairy tale. She has lived a long and happy life with her husband but is struggling to deal with her loss of him, despite her daughter’s upcoming nuptials.
Tom Daley. Olympic bronze medalist. Commonwealth Games gold medalist. Bi-sexual. Teenager. Brave young man flung into the world of celebrity. What is the most important face in this list?
The newest celebrity scandal is Tom ‘coming out’ in his very poignant and personal YouTube video. There have been mixed emotions from people regarding this. It was obvious he was gay. Why did he have to make such a big deal of it? Why does it even matter?
This is just a very quick post to shamelessly plug my latest article written for Yahoo Movies about the new Fantastic beasts movie that is currently in production. Please have a read if you think it will interest you at all.
Thanks everyone. Have a good day and there will be a proper post soon, I promise!
